The 2015 'Le Chataignier' Châteauneuf-du-Pape is composed of 92% Grenache Noir and 8% Mourvèdre from the estates oldest Grenache vines which are planted to red sandstone called “Châtaignier." The wine itself has wonderful nuances of red berry, spices, olive, lavender and spring flowers, which all come together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is medium-bodied and beautifully structured with fine, silky tannins and excellent overall balance, backed by lovely underlying acidity which persists through the finish.
