Joseph Perrier was established in 1825, and has been under the ownership of the same family (Pithois) since 1888. it is now run by Jean-Claude Fourmon, a direct descendant of Paul Pithois, Joseph Perrier own roughly 21 hectares of vineyards on the Northern Slopes of the Valle de la Marne. The 'Royal Cuvee' Rose is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir with 25% Chardonnay. The dosage is moderate at 10 g/l, although this wine has a lovely saline and sour edge to it. The wine begins with aromas of red currant, cranberry and biscuit. There are flavors of cran-raspberry, tangerine rind and cardemom spice notes that give the wine a citrus driven body. This is flavorful and balanced bubbly that would serve as a wonderful aperitif. (Best 2015-2022) - December, 2015 (OB)
