GUNDERLOCH Riesling Kabinett 'Jean Baptiste' 2013

This Kabinett comes from the Der Fröhliche Weinberg, or the Merry Vineyard. The wine begins with aromas reminiscent of wet stone, red delicious apple and pear. This leads to reticent flavors of unripe Bartlett pear, Granny Smith apple, mint and crushed rock. This is forward with the lighter fruit flavors but is somewhat lacking fruit set and minerality. It is quite refreshing, nonetheless. (Best 2015-2021) - November, 2015 (OB)
