The 2016 Barbera d’Alba begins with lovely aromatics of dark cherries and raspberries woven together with crushed stones, exotic spices, balsamic and a smoky character. On the palate this is medium-bodied with a lovely texture as it leads into the mineral driven finish. Overall a fresh, inviting Barbera, which is drinking beautifully now, yet should also hold nicely for a few years in the cellar.
