The 2005 'Pagliaro' Sagrantino di Montefalco is a simply amazing showing from Paolo Bea in this vintage. This bursts open with seductive aromas of blackberries and dark chrries woven together with floral, tobacco, earth, spice, cigar box. Dense and concentrated, with round silky tannins that grip a firm hold oon the ultra-long finish. While there is a wonderful future ahead, it will likely need at least another year or two of bottle age before it hits its stride. (Best 2015-2027) - September, 2010 (JD)
