The 2019 La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino is stunning. It delivers beautiful aromas of cherries and dark berries which are woven together with nuances spices, florals, leather, fresh herbs, mint and a hint of vanilla. On the palate this demonstrates wonderful purity and finesse along with a fantastic balance of fruit and acidity. It is all wrapped up in a beautiful fine, silky texture that carries on all the way through the pretty finish. This Brunello shows remarkable promise, and should offer a drinking window that spans two decades.
