The 2008 Fattoria Casa Alte Brunello di Montalcino offers lots of fresh cherries and blackberries as well as spices, earth and hints of cedar and leathery notes. The solid structure is supported by fine-grained tannins which work their way into the long chewy finish. There is certainly lots to like here, but it could use just a bit of time.
