Arimilla is situated south-west of Montalcino in the direction of Grosseto, at about 320 metres above sea level, and the land in this area is made of decomposed rocks and rich of minerals. The 2009 Brunello di Montalcino from Armilla brings loads of old-world character, with aromas of roasted plum, sweet berries, moistened earth, citrus rind, insense and spices. The medium body is supported by a beautiful silky texture and shows wonderful balance all the way through the finish. This could benefit from some more time in bottle, but if approaching early on allow lengthy air contact. (Best 2015-2021) - March, 2014 (JD)
