The 'Vallocchio’ Brunello di Montalcino is a beautiful showing from Fanti in 2010, bringing together a wonderful mix of both classic and modern characteristics. This delivers aromas of cherries and plums followed by earthy tones, licorice, dried floral and a lovely savory edge. This continues to impress with its wonderful finesse, excellent structure and beautiful fine silky tannins, which possess a lovely inner sweetness and caress your palate all the way through the long pretty finish. A remarkable effort that is already showing so much, however this will also prove to age gracefully over the next decade and beyond. This Brunello is sourced from various vineyards in the Vallocchio area; including Casabandi, Bellavista, Sassone and Macchiarelle Nuovo. (Best 2017-2034) - February, 2015 (JD)
