The 2012 San Giorgio 'Ugolforte' leans on the modern side as it opens with inviting aromas of cherries and plum, which are woven together with vanilla, leather, exotic spices, tobacco and hints of sandalwood notes all coming together in the glass. On the palate this full-bodied Brunello possesses a wonderful silky texture as it expands through the persistent finish. This quite appealing now and should continie to drink well over the course of the next decade. (Best 2017-2028) - February, 2017 (JD)
