The 2012 'Varco' comes from careful selection of grapes from our best and oldest vineyard called Varco 84, which is located at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level and is exposed to the southwest. The wine itself instantly opens to attractive aromoatics of Kirsch cherries, blackberries, dried spices, new leather, black truffle, cedar with hints of dried florals. Full-bodied, round and plush with wonderful overall balance as it makes a seamless transition onto the long, spicy finish. Varco is another impressive wine in this vintage from Molino di Sant’Antimo which will be accessible early on. (Best 2017-2028) - March, 2017 (JD)
