The 2011 Riserva is an absolute stunning beauty in this vintage and a clear example of why this is one of the most sought after Riserva’s from Montalcino every single year. This is all about elegance and purity as it opens to extremely perfumed aromatics of red cherries, and strawberries along with floral, exotic spices, smoky leather, orange zest and hints of mint. This medium-bodied, ultra-silky Brunello is beautifully structured, balanced and extremely precise, with attractive red fruits which are underlined by gorgeous acidity that provides remarkable freshness lasting through the pretty finish. While this is already extremely attractive, this is ultimately and age-worthy Brunello which will last the test of time. (Best 2020-2040) - March, 2017 (JD)
