This sensational Brunello comes from the 5-hectare La Casa Vineyard, which is located on the Montosoli Hill. This is a very special area in Montalcino, situated at a higher elevation of 275 meters, which protects the vines from mists and spring frosts, while the south-southeast exposure allow for excellent sunshine for optimum ripening. The 2012 'La Casa' Brunello is a drop-dead gorgeous showing in this vintage. Seductive and elegant with aromas of blackberries, cherries, exotic spices, mahogany, leather and floral underlined by white summer truffles. This beautifully balanced Brunello impresses with its silky texture, polished frame and wonderful depth, which leads into the long, velvety finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible showing from Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini and winemaker Massimo Bracalente, which is outstanding today, but will also age gracefully.
