MAURO MOLINO Barolo ‘Conca’ 2010

I was taken back with the quality of these single vineyard crus from Mauro Molino in 2010 and the ‘Conca’ seems to be the most approachable and impressive to date. It bursts open with an abundance of juicy red fruits like strawberries and wild cherries, followed by tar, vanilla, sweet spices and fresh basil. It impresses with its gorgeous texture and excellent structure, before another explosion of red fruits on the long polished finish. Just a flat-out delicious wine, that is very accessible and really benefits from just a couple hours of air. This will be a stunning wine for years to come. (Best 2015-2030) - August, 2014 (JD)
