The 2011 Giachini Vineyard Barolo is another superb showing from Giovanni Corino. It instantly opens up with wonderful nuances of ripe blackberries and cassis woven together with leather, spices, mint, licorice and gorgeous fresh cut violets which soar from the glass. It continues to impress with its excellent structure, depth and polish that continues on through the long finish. Overall, a beautiful effort which is already showing plenty of character, however I only anticipate this to be even better in a decade. (Best 2016-2031) - May, 2015 (JD)
