The 2011 Cannubi is an absolutely sensational showing from Marchesi di Barolo, impressive for its wonderful elegance and refined character. As this slowly begins to open it offers pretty aromas of dried red berries, mint, licorice, minerals and spring flowers which all come together in the glass. This is beautifully structured, backed by fine-grained tannins that grip a firm hold on the finish. Today the 2011 Cannubi is a bit restrained, only revealing a peak into its full potential, this will ultimately require some patience as it continues to develop with time.
