The Bricco Ambrogio is the most compelling of the 2011 releases from Negretti. The vineyard is about 45-years-old, with a south-east exposure and and soils composed of calcareous marl with some limestone. The 2011 opens up with gorgeous aromas of fresh strawberries and red fruits woven together with licorice, violets, sweet spices and hints of dried sage. This possesses a wonderful polished texture which expands onto the finish, where it firms up shows excellent length. (Best 2016-2028) - August, 2015 (JD)
