The classic Barolo, which is sourced from vineyards primarily in Serralunga, along with some from Castiglione Falletto is wonderful entry into Azelia’s range of fabulous wines in this vintage. It begins with attractive aromas of dried cherries and strawberries woven together with fresh cut floral, eucalyptus and hints of crushed stones all coming together in this refined Barolo. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied and displays a lovely polished texture. This displays wonderful balance from start to finish, where flavors of red fruits continue to linger on and on. This is a Barolo which will be accessible sooner than later. (Best 2017-2026) - June, 2016 (JD)
