E. PIRA CHIARA BOSCHIS Barolo 'Via Nuova' 2013

The 2013 'Via Nuova' Barolo is sourced from six different vineyard sites located between Barolo, Monforte and Serralunga and is a drop-dead gorgeous showing in this vintage. Instantly bursting with beautiful aromatics of dark cherries, red berries, floral and tar along with sweet and exotic spices. This demonstrates remarkable power and depth, with beautifully polished tannins. It continues to impress all the way through the finish as it shows excellent length and complexity until the very end. Today, this seems to be the most accessible of Chiara Boschis wines from the vintage and there is little doubt it will also evolve gracefully over the next decade and beyond for those willing to wait. (Best 2019-2033) - August, 2017 (JD)
