The 'Cuvée delle Vigne Niche' is another superb showing from Tenuta delle Terre Nere in 2012. As this 100% Carricante begins to open it releases characteristics, initially reminding me somewhat of Puligny-Montrachet, with gorgeous aromas of fresh lemon, stony minerals, white florals, vanilla, saline and scorched notes. This is beautifully textured, backed by lovely acidity while showing amazing balance and focus from start to finish. Carricante is a varietal that has shown it can age extremely well and this looks to be a wine that will certainly prove to be even better in time. (Best 2015-2025) - December, 2014 (JD)
