This dazzling blend of mostly Nerello Mascalese with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio comes from the 10 hectare ‘Santo Spirito’ Cru which is situated 750 meters above sea level and consists of 40-100 year-old vines. The 2012 is simply gorgeous to say the least, constantly evolving in the glass with wild strawberries and cherries woven together rose petal, fresh mineral and touches of smoldering ash. This continues to impress with its beautiful silky, caressing texture and remarkable balance and finesse. Even ay this youthful stage this is already showing so many lovely characteristics, but there is doubt it will only get even better if given the time to develop. (Best 2016-2028) - January, 2014 (JD)
