The 2012 Maremma Toscana is a blend of 60% Sangioveto, 20% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon that opens with aromas of blackberries and cherries along with spices, tobacco, anise and hints of earth. The full body is round and nicely polished, showing noteable balance all the way through the spice tinged finish. This is a bit more refined than the 'Le Sughere' and should benefit from some additional bottle age, but already very appealing. (Best 2016-2024) - September, 2015 (JD)
