Made from 90% Sangioveto, 5% Canaiolo, and 5% Ciliegiolo grown in the Il Poggiale vineyard, this Chianti Classico Riserva spent 18 months in New-One year French oak barriques. The result is a lovely wine which opens to aromas of red cherries and plums woven together with spices, floral and some earthy tones. This possesses a medium body with fine, silky tannins and a lovely touch of underlying acidy keeping fresh and inviting through the finish. While this is accessible now, it has the potential for some cellaring as well. (Best 2017-2024) - April, 2017 (JD)
