This selection comes from Lamole area, where the vineyards are situated at 500-550 above sea level and planted are planted among the boulders and are usually grown in the form of small trees known as “Alberello”. The 2012 ‘Lamole’ Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is an impressive showing which opens with alluring aromas of dark cherries, plums, spices, leather and hints of licorice all taking shape as this unwinds in the glass. On the palate this is medium-full bodied with velvety tannins and nice underlying acidity. Flavors of dark cherries, spices and licorice remain persistent through the finish.
