The 2010 Terra di Lavoro is a stunning blend of 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso that comes come vines located the volcanic slopes of northwestern Campania, situated among chestnut groves and benefiting from the cool Mediterranean breeze. It displays intense aromas and flavors of blackberries and dark cherries layered with terroir driven notes of smoke, ash, herbs, dark chocolate and leather. This possesses a full body that is wonderfully structured with excellent depth and concentration. The finish finesses the palate and lingers on and on. A superb wine, however it will demand time in the cellar to come together, but is sure to age gracefully for many years to come. The wine spent 12 months in French oak and an additional 10 months in bottle. (Best 2017-2030) - April, 2014 (JD)
