BELLINI Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2010

As the 2010 Bellini Amarone begins to unwind in the glass it releases aromas of ripe dark plums, sweet cherries, raisin, dusty minerals, Asian spices and a subtle ashy character. This impresses on the palate with its full, plush texture that is kept nicely balanced by the underlying acidity, which also provides the lift and momentum this needs as this heads into the polished finish. Today, this wine certainly has its bright spots, but ultimately it will need some more bottle age. Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. (Best 2016-2024) - September, 2014 - (JD)
