1985 is considered a classic vintage for Solaia and this wine has certainly lasted the test of time. After almost 30 years, this is still a stunning showing and drinking absolutely beautiful. It offers seductive aromas and flavors of blackberry fruit followed by Asian spices, leather, dried violets and underlying hints of dried earth. This really impresses on the palate, where it’s remarkably balanced and incredibly smooth from start to finish. Overall, this is an outstanding Solaia and although its best days may be behind it there is still some time left.
