The Tenuta di Trinoro Rosso Toscana is a flat-out spectacular showing in 2011. This harmonious blend of 90% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot delivers intoxicating aromas of ripe dark currants and blueberries, which are followed by fresh violets, exotic spices with a touch of smoke and roasted heirloom tomato. The full, voluptuous body is absolutely seamless, showing impeccable balance and structure with amazing depth and concentration all the way through the finish. This will be accessible early and after extended hours of air contact this really begins to express itself, however those that want to hang on to this should enjoy watching it evolve for years to come. Andrea Franchetti has done a phenomenal job in 2011 and there are hardly enough words to say about this fantastic offering, except that this is undoubtably one of the best wines I have tasted across all of Tuscany in 2011.
