The 2014 Luce is a seductive showing which is impressive for its depth and complex personality. This profound blend of sangiovese and Merlot bursts opens with aromatics of blackberries, dark cherries woven together with pencil shavings, toast, spices, cinnamon, spring florals and underlying hints of gingerbread. On the palate this is full-bodied and layered with a muscular texture and polished tannins making for a irresistible mouthfeel. The finish is long and multi-demsional with dark fruits, spices and graphite lingering on and on. Overall, this is a complete success for this stylish tuscan wine. While it is already extremely compelling and simply delicious upon release it should also continue to age beautifully for more than a decade. (Best 2018-2030) - April, 2017 (JD)
