The 2013 Vigna Dominin Merlot is a total beauty from Meroi in this vintage. Vigna Dominin is situated at 140 meters above sea level with a south east exposure and is composed of 50-year-old vines planted to Eocenic Marl soils. This results in a simply gorgeous Merlot with incredible freshness and complexity. The aromatics are striking, revealing ripe blackberries, cherries, fresh florals, licorice and hints of leather and toast. It possesses a full body with remarkable structure and tension, driven by a bright core of acidity and minerality which keeps it fresh and inviting through the long, expansive finish. While this is already showing exceptionally well, however expect it to continue to age gracefully over the next decade and beyond. (Best 2018-2030) - October, 2017 (JD)
