The 2013 Sassicaia is an absolutely gorgeous showing, demonstrating a wonderful balance of both power and elegance. A beautifully made wine, which slowly begins to unwind, releasing striking aromas of ripe blackberries and dark cherries woven together with spices, fresh spring floral and minerals. On the palate this full-bodied and possesses remarkable overall structure, balance and depth leading up to the long, expansive finish. The 2013 is composed of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon/15% Cabernet Franc and is already extremely impressive, but patience will be rewarded as looks to have an even brighter future.
