This excellent Pinot Noir comes from the Te Muna vineyard, one of the county's best vineyards for Pinot. The vineyard is situated on a slope of an elevated terrace of fertile land at the Te Muna Road vineyard. This was aged in 35% new French oak for 10 months prior to bottling. It begins with aromas of sandalwood, red cherry, red raspberry and shitake mushroom. This leads to earthier tones of red cherry, forest floor, boysenberry and black truffle. There is beautiful balance here, as the minerality shines. It is difficult to sit on right now. (Best 2016-2023) - January, 2016 (OB)
