The 2013 Ontañón 'Vetiver' is 100% Viura, sourced from 2004 plantings that are set on clay and loam soils. This aged for nearly six months in oak and an additional six months in bottle prior to release. This aromatic white wine begins with honeycomb, orange blossom, green bell pepper and Marcona almond on the nose. On the palate this yields a lighter profile, with flavors reminiscent of white peach, pink grapefruit, lychee and hints of gooseberry. This Rioja Blanco continues to show lovely acidity and fresh character through the finish. (Best 2016-2020) - August, 2016 (OB)
