The 2012 CVNE Rioja 'Reserva' is a tremendous effort from this estate. This has a highly perfumed nose of black cherries woven together with rose petals, smoke and black olive, all taking shape in the glass. On the palate there is wonderful richness and viscosity to this delicious wine as it delivers concentrated flavors of black cherries, milk chocolate, black olive, teaberries and hints of Mandarin orange. It remains well balanced with a weighty texture through the finish. Allow this some air contact if approaching now, but this also has the potential to cellar beautifully well into the next decade.
