The 2011 Rioja 'Reserva' from Marqués de Cáceres is a gorgeous showing, which slowly unwinds to aromatics reminiscent of black tea, pencil shavings, mint and Asian spices. On the palate this possesses a wonderful structure and a dense mouthfeel with rich flavors of wet stone, wild blackberry cobbler, green olive and a lovely saline and mineral driven finish. While this is already offering plenty of appeal, allowing this beauty at least another year for the fruit to integrate will certainly be worth the wait. (Best 2018-2028) - May, 2017 (OB)
