Marqués de Cáceres has gained a sterling reputation with their Gran Reserva and the 2009 is another gorgeous wine made from this renowned estate. As this compelling Rioja slowly begins to open it releases lovely aromas of coffee grounds, black olive and black cherry compote. This leads to flavors reminiscent of black cherry, black tea, crushed mint, orange peel, wet gravel and boysenberry jam. The polished tannins and a wonderfully rich mouthfeel, make this simply irresistible and it will be fascinating to watch this wine's development over the next decade.
