Coming from a challenging vintage in Rioja, this Tempranillo was sourced from vines set at nearly 1,700 feet elevation and was aged for 16 months in French oak prior to bottling. As this begins to open it releases inviting aromatics reminiscent of black plums, red cherries and cigar box. The mouthfeel is plush, showing medium weight with flavors of red cherry, orange rind, red currant and pipe tobacco flavors all coming together beautifully. (Best 2017-2022) - August, 2017 (OB)
