The 2012 Culmen Reserva begins with inviting aromas of anise, cigar box and blackberries all taking shape. The palate is exceedingly plush, as the wine takes on a rather seductive rich mouthfeel that makes this Rioja nearly impossible to put down. Anise, sandalwood, wild blackberry cobbler flavors impress as they combine lovely minerality. The finish shows excellent length, as it is marked by a lovely hint of citrus which underlines the ripe dark fruit flavors. (Best 2017-2030) - December, 2017 (OB)
