The 2012 Clos de Nit 'Crianza' was aged for six months in French oak prior to bottling. This is a blend of 40% Garnacha, 40% Carinena and 20% Syrah. It is a powereful wine that improves after a one hour decant. Lovely aromatics of red cherry, prune, red raspberry liquor and rose petals impress. The wine shows impressive weight and poise. Black raspberry, Satsuma orange rind, black tea and hints of Shitake mushroom flavors show wonderful range. Pair this gorgeous wine with hard cheeses. (Best 2017-2022) - July, 2017 (OB)
