The 2016 Clos Mogador is a stunning new wine by this storied Priorat estate perched high in the mountains. A blend of 49% Garnacha, 25% Cariñena, 16% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine shows off a deep core in the glass. Needing roughly an hour decant to be fully aroused, the wine slowly unveils ripe rose petals that mingle with bright orange zest and shades of black plum that all march in place in the glass. The texture and supple mouthfeel really entices as you are immediately greeted with wonderful bright acidity and a saline streak that races through the mid-palate. Layers of red and dark fruits collide with smoky and earthy undertones on the palate. Quite lithe and primary now, the 2016 Clos Mogador will provide drinking enjoyment for decades to come.
