December, 2011 - The 2008 Alto Moncayo is absolutely massive with a pitch black color. It doses out blue and black fruit reduction, espresso, chocolate liqueur, graphite, toasted oak and floral. This is so huge, dense and concentrated but there is just enough acidity to keep it in place and give it structure. The round polished tannins lead the way into the juicy mouth-watering finish that keeps pumping out dark fruits, espresso and chocolate for days. The 16% alcohol spikes at times but this is so delicious who cares. (Drink 2012-2022) - JD
