This Pinot Noir was sourced from the Rita’s Crown Wineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. One of the regions most recognized vinyards, Rita's Crown is set on a steep hillside on the southern part of the Santa Rita Hills AVA, near Mt. Carmel Vineyard. The vines, planted in the 90's, are set on rocky as well as sandy loam soils. The resulting wine starts off with bright aromas of dark berry compote, citrus rind and a touch of smoke. The rich mouthfeel delights, showing wonderful dark fruits as well as a touch of smoke and pipe tobacco.
