AU BON CLIMAT Pinot Noir 'Isabelle' 2012

2015 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #36

The ‘Isabelle' is a blend of the best barrels from at least six of Au Bon Climat’s vineyards. These vineyards range from two vineyards in northern California, one in the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, and another in the Russian River Valley, along with five or six of the top vineyards from the Central Coast. The 2012 is drop-dead gorgeous, offering striking aromas and flavors of raspberries and cherries woven together with smoke, scorched earth, dried florals and spices which soar from the glass. This continues to impress with its overall balance, focus and depth as it makes a seamless transition onto the finish. An absolutely magical effort from Jim Clendenen that should continue to deliver pleasure for many years to come. (Best 2015-2030) - May, 2015 (JD)
