The 2016 Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is an exceptional showing in this vintage. Winemaker Marcus Notaro composed the wine of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, and for the first time included a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. As this outstanding wine begins to unwind it releases wonderful forward aromatics of ripe black berries and blueberries which are woven together with violets, spices and a hint of tobacco, likely from the Cabernet Franc. On the palate this is simply gorgeous, boasting a full body, that is elegant and beautifully polished. It goes on to impress as it displays layers of flavors that are wrapped in a wonderful seamless texture which persists all the way through the graceful finish. Overall this is a fabulous wine which is certainly attractive now, but should also develop beautifully over time.
