The 2014 Hyde Estate Merlot is a fantastic and restrained Merlot bottling that shows great poise and terroir from this warm vintage in the Napa Valley. As this begins to open it takes on lifted herbal nuances that collide with tar and black fruits. The palate shows loads of mouth watering acidity with red currants, red cherries and red bell pepper flavors. Quite vibrant considering the varietal, this finishes strong with a lovely saline-driven finish. Enjoy this great wine over the next ten plus years.
