This comes from a cool climate Sonoma Coast vineyard that sits four miles from the Pacific Ocean. This vineyard is at 800 teet and has well drained Goldridge soils set on steep hillsides and utilizes Dijon clones 828 and 115. The wine aged 13 months in French oak (35% new). This has aromas of forest floor, anise, and black cherry. There are flavors reminiscent of black cherry, mushroom, raspberry, with a nice richness and viscosity and a slight saline streak. Lovely wine, only 280 Cases produced. (Best 2015-2027) - November, 2015 (OB)
