The 2013 Merryvale 'Carneros' Chardonnay is a fantastic new release wine from Merryvale. The wine was largely sourced from the Stanly Ranch Estate Vineyard in Carneros, with some select lots from the esteemed Hyde Vineyard as well. The wine begins with aromatics of brioche, lemon oil, and poached pear. There are rich flavors of brioche, Granny Smith apple, poached pear and nutmeg. Lovely balance, texture and weight to this impressive wine that has a lovely mouthfeel and a vanilla cream finish that lingers. (Best 2016-2023) - May, 2016 (OB)
