Located in the Napa-Carneros AVA, the Hyde Vineyard is strongly influenced by the marine air that flows through the Petaluma Gap. The wine was aged in 31% new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling. This golden hued wine starts with aromas reminiscent of Granny Smith apple, Meyer lemon zest, butterscotch and hints of white truffle. The combination of weight, astringency and range is astounding, as flavors of crème brûlée, bananas foster, lemon oil and Pink Lady apples entice the mid-palate leading up to the minute-long finish that completes this astounding wine. Impossible to resist now, this complete wine will cellar marvelously over the course of the next decade. (Best 2017-2030) - December, 2017 (OB)
