The O’Shaughnessy Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is another absolutely sensational effort in this vintage. This intriguing blend is dark and menacing, giving way to complex aromatics of ripe black fruits, fresh spring floral, loam and sweet spices along with graphite, mocha and anise, all coming together beautifully and soaring from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and intense, with gorgeous polished tannins. It continues to impress with its remarkable overall balance, depth and concentration. The finish delivers rich layers of ripe dark fruits and sweet spices which continue to linger on. The Howell Mountain Cabernet is already extremely compelling at this early stage, evolving with each second in the glass, however I expect it to continue to age gracefully for many years to come.
