HALL Cabernet Sauvignon, Sacrashe Vineyard 2013

The Sacrashe Vineyard is Hall's estate vineyard in Rutherford and was the first vineyard purchased by the Hall's in 1995. Planted to predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Sacrashe is situated atop the eastern ridge of the Vaca mountain range in Rutherford, and known for its extremely limiting volcanic tuff soils and gentle slopes. As this majestic wine slowly begins to open it releases a bouquet of crème de cassis, blackberry pie, black cherries, anise, black olive tapenade and hints of milk chocolate, all coming together in a harmonious fashion. This continues to impress with its deep, concentrated flavors of crème de cassis, anise, mocha, pipe tobacco, mint and hints of graphite, which resonate beautifully across the palate. This demonstrates a gorgeous textural richness with an opulent mouthfeel and polished tannins, both profound and elegant. There is incredible weight and intensity along with a wonderful seamless quality, which continues on through the long, multidimensional finish. There is a wonderful future ahead for this wine, but it is just about impossible to resist today. (Best 2017-2035) - September, 2016 (OB)
